The Ring Came!!!!!

Well if all goes right I should be landing in Philly in a little over 12 hrs, I can't wait.

The ring I bought my Mom came today, Thank God!!!! Here are some pictures I took of it. Is it just me or does the center stone look more on the pink side than Ruby?? Oh well it looks like a ruby in person...lol.

Photobucket

This is the side view with my brother's names, Gregory and Phillip. The stones are placed in out birth order, Greg being the oldest of course. Greg's birthday is in August and Phillip is in April.

Photobucket

There here is my sister and I, Kimberly and Cynthia. Kim's birthday is in December and mine is October. I wish they would have had opal, you know I couldn't find a ring anywhere that would put an opal in it!!!!

Photobucket

I am sooooooooo happy it came. I can't wait to give it to her, I am going to take her out to dinner and give it to her then. That's if she wants to go out to dinner tomorrow night, if not I will give it to her at home. I didn't want to resize the pictures too small because I wanted you to be able to see the names.

Well this will be my last post until I come back. I own't have my laptop with me, and I am not sure if my sister has the internet right now. See ya next week!!

Until later.

The Ring Fiasco

Of course you know I am going to see my famliy on Friday (can't wait btw), well I didn't get my Mom anything for Christmas because I knew I was going to be there a few weeks after Christmas so I wanted to give her something then.

I wanted it to be a good gift, something I knew she would really like, something I knew she wanted. So for weeks I 'window shopped' online looking for something to get her. I just couldn't find anything and then I remembered, my Mom has always said that she wanted a Mother's Ring you know the ones with the birthstones.

So I started looking all over the web for Mother's rings and I just couldn't find anything within my $200 budget. Finally on December 13th I found a ring from at Zales online for $186 and it was prefect. It would have 5 stones, the one in the middle would have my Mom's birthstone and then 2 stones on each side for each of us kids. Plus it would have each of our names next to our stones.

So as I am looking online I see that if you order by December 4th you would have it by Christmas. Well of course it was the 13th and I didn't need it by Christmas just by the time I leave to go up to PA. So I ordered it, got an email saying my order was processed on the 15th and that is the last thing I heard from them.

So on December 26th I decided to call just to find out when I would get the ring since I didn't even have an estimate when I would get it. I was sure that I would have it in time since it said on the website if you order by the 4th have it by Christmas, and that is only 21 days if it was there on Christmas Eve. NO where on the site did it say that they were rushing those orders.

So I call and the girl on the phone tells me it won't be shipped until at least January 14th. What??? I wasn't happy and asked if there was any way we could rush it, I even said I was willing to pay more. She said she would put in a ticket to do so but couldn't promise me anything.

Yeah I wasn't happy, so I decided I would call back the following Monday. If they would have at least giving an estimate on the website when I should get the ring I may not have ordered it in the first place.

So when I called on Monday the guy I talked to said I don't know why the rep told you that the ring would be shipped by the 14th, he said they don't ship out for at least 5-6 weeks after ordering it!!!! Yeah I am pissed by now and told the guy that I wanted to cancel the order, he told me I couldn't!!! Ummmm really?? I haven't even paid for it yet, the money isn't being taking out of my account until it is shipped so you are telling me I can't cancel something I haven't even paid for yet???

So I had off that Thrusday and I decided I would call back again to see if I could have the shipping address changed. By this point I just wanted to make sure she could get the ring. If it got shipped here after I had already come home then I would have to pay for shipping plus insurance since it is a ring and have it shipped down to my mom.

So I talk to a supervisor, he tells me I can't change the shipping address!!!!! WHAT??? Ok I can't cancel because it has already been processed and I can't change the shipping address on something that hasn't been shipped yet?????? I was livid, I told the guy that I wanted the ring by NO LATER than January 8th, and if it wasn't here by that date I would advise my bank to deny any withdrawls that Zales attempted to take out.

Ok guys I know I work in customer service, I know how hard it is to change something about an order once it has been placed and paid for. But, you are sitting there and everything I ask for you CAN'T do for me?????????

So after that I just had it and decided that if it was going to get here after the 8th I would just refuse shipment and then the money would be refunded back to me. I didn't want to let it ruin the excitement that was building for my trip.

Until tonight I had really not thought about it. When I got home from work I checked my e-mail I had an e-mail from Zales stating my order had been shipped. I pulled up the e-mail and clicked the link to track it, guess what???? My order will be delivered on January 8th by 4:30pm!!!!!!!!!!! Now I am happy, see that is one of the perks of bitching until you get what you want...lol.

So now when I go up to see my Mommy I will be able to give her the ring she has been asking for for so long. I will be there to see the look on her face when she sees it. I will be there to share that Mother/Dauther moment with her. That is all I wanted in the first place, to be able to give that ring to my Mom to show her just how much she means to me.

Woohoo I can tell this trip is going to best unforgettable!!!!!!!!!!!

Until later

I Am A Phone Whore!!!

GRRRR why didn't my last entry space the correct way????

Anywho, I was going to do this entry later this week before I leave for PA but I figured I am in the typing mood now so why not?

Yes, I am a phone whore, I work in a call center for a very well know Wireless phone provider's customer service. I started this job in June after we moved down to Tennessee, it was a hugh change from what I am used to doing for work.

Before becoming a phone whore I was a fast food whore. Yep you heard that right I am proud to admit that I worked in fast food...lol. Well not really proud more so not ashamed to admit it. I was an assistant manager and almost had my own store as General Manager but I just couldn't do it anymore. The stress was getting to me and I knew becoming a Store Manager would just add to that stress.

Anywho, so when I moved down here I just started to fill out applications EVERY where. From food places to retail to whatever I could find that was hiring. Let me tell you I HATE this whole online application process, because I didn't hear a thing from anyone!! I would rather write on an application and hand it to a manager.

Since I wasn't hearing anything from any of the places I had put applications in at I went to a Career Center here and got listings for places that were hiring. This place that I work out now I had to actually go in for the application (wooohooo something I could do IN PERSON!!!!). I was told that day to come back in for some testing (typing test, common knowledge test etc) and a few days after that I got a call back for an interview, I had the job by the end of the interview!

Let me tell you I was really excited, this was something I never done before I had always worked in a place that I had to run around like a chicken with my head cut off. This was totally different I would be sitting at a desk all day.

So I went in for my 5 weeks of training, I had to sit in a classroom for 5 weeks learning polices and how to work through the system. After 5 weeks I took my first real call. WHOA, hmmm my excitment about the job dropped, it was scary I had nooooo clue what I was getting myself into. By my third day I was on the phone during one of my breaks crying to my husband that I didn't think I could do it...lol. Ahhh but here I am 250+ days, 2 raises and a promotion later and I actually like my job.

After 3 months of hearing the beep when another call would come in with a customer complaining that their teenager had texted a million and one times that month and now they had a $4000.00 dollar phone bill (ok total stretch of the truth, ok well some cases not really I have seen a cell phone bill for $75,000 I kid you not!!!!) I got a latteral (sp?) promotion, it wasn't more money an hour, but it looks good on my job history I moved to the Commitment team. I know longer receive calls I make them.

No, I am not a telemarketer. When someone calls into our center and for whatever reason they need to be called back because their account needs further research or such I am the one that calls them back. Yeah it is pretty nice, half of the time when I call someone back I get their voice mail and have to leave a message, or just have to send them a text message.

Funny store, there was this one account I was working on and the customers name was Abraham his last name began with an L I don't remember what it was and I would put that info in here any way. Of course when I saw his name it made me think of Abraham Lincoln. So I went to call him and THANK GOD I got his VM (voicemail) because I said "Hi this message is for Abraham Lincoln..." again THANK GOD it was his cell phone because I was able to re-record the message. Yeah I giggled for a while after that one...lol.

The reason I decided to tell you what I do is because I am sure in the future I will be telling you stories about some of the accounts I have seen and customers I have dealt with. Of course it won't be details because I could lose my job. But let me tell you I have dealt with some crazy customers and some jacked up accounts like the account for $75,000. Like the woman who couldn't verify the account and I couldn't help her with anything and she just started crying and screaming saying she needed her service restored because how was she going to call the cops the next time her boyfriend beat her. Yeah lots of crazies.

So yep now you know what I do for a living.

I think I am going to go to bed now.

Until later.

So Excited I Could Pee!!!!

Ok, I don't know why being excited and peeing have anything to do with each other but it just sounded good...lol. But, yeah I am so excited I don't even know how to explain it.
I leave for PA in 3 days!!!! WOOOHOOO. When I bought my ticket in October I thought it would take forever for January 9th to get here and not it is just 3 days away. Shoot it seems like just a few days ago I was saying on 29 days to go...lol. It has been 7 months since I have seen my Mom, that is the longest I have ever gone without seeing her since the day I was born. I can't wait!!!!!
I am going to kick my brother's butt when I get there though, because he told my niece I was coming...grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Yeah my sister called me today and said 'guess who knows you are coming who wasn't supposed to know.' I said who and she said my niece. That she came up to her last night and told her she knew what was happening on Friday, and my sister asked her what and Arlette said Aunt Cynthia is coming to visit!!!! My sister told her not to tell a single soul, and Arlette said she would act excited...lol.
I have to work Tuesday and Wednesday and I am off on Thrusday which is good because I have a lot of stuff to do on Thrusday before I leave on Friday. I have a feeling I am not going to get much sleep Thrusday night I am going to be too excited and that isn't good since my flight leaves at a little after 7am. Which means I need to leave my house at 4am to make it to the airport 2 hours before my flight leaves, I live an hour from Nashville where the airport is. So yeah I am going to be beat when I get in PA, but hopefully I can get some sleep on the plane.
I am only going to be in PA for 4 days, I wish it was longer but I didn't have enough vacation time left at work. My goal is to visit at least once a year. I should have plenty of paid time off at work to go again later in the year this year. Joe won't be going with me this time which is kind of a good thing because I will be able to devote all of my time to seeing my family and friends. Of course I am going to miss him, but it isn't like it is for a long time. Sometimes you just need a little time away from the spouse.
I am also really excited because I get to meet my Godson for the first time. My best friend of 21 years just had her second child in October and asked me to be his Godmother. Sunday is his Christening that is one of the main reasons I am going when I am for that. I can't wait to meet him and to see her daughter, from what I can see in pictures she has gotten so big.
But, the main person I can't wait to see if my Mommy, she doesn't know I am coming up and I am picking her up when she gets off work and she has no clue. I can't wait to hug her and I know I am going to cry like a big baby. I am really close to my Mom she has been one of the hardest things about living so far away. I miss her sooooooooo much, I can talk to her on the phone but it just isn't the same as hoping in the car and stopping over her house. Ya know what I mean??
Well I think that is all for now.
Anywho that is all for now!!!

Denver'a Dot and such...

I just had to post the picture above, that is of course my husband and out dog Denver. Denver is a 3 year old White German Shepherd, he is our puppers we brought him home when he was only 7 1/2 weeks old. Joe was sleeping and Denver was comfy lying with his Daddy.

We have no kids so Denver makes up for that, in a way of course...lol. Denver is one of the main reasons we moved down to Tennessee, we had no where to live and it was because we had him. But, I just couldn't give him up, after all he had been through last year the last thing I wanted to do was give him up and the only place he could have gone was to some shelter. So that is when we talked to friends of ours in Tennessee and they told us to come on down with Denver.

I have to post this other picture of Denver, most German Shepherds have black noses some of them do have pink. Well Denver's nose is mostly a pinkish color. But, a few months ago I noticed a dot on his nose, right in the middle of his nose there is a little black dot. Denver has a freckle. See...
Photobucket
Yeah and I just noticed that he has a piece of fur hanging out of his nose...lol. I will be posting many more of Denver on this blog. So yeah that his he freckle.
Anywho, I can't believe it is already 2009 Joe and I didn't do anything for the New Year we were both in bed by 12:30 yeah a bunch of fuddy duddy's...lol. I am optimistic that this year will be better than 2008, we had a rough first year of marriage. But we have a lot to look forward to this year, we will be celebrating out 2 year wedding anniversary in June. In November it will be 5 years that we have been together, I can't believe it has been that long.
Well I hope everyone has a safe and Happy 2009.
I have been reading some blogs here in blogger and I think I am going to go introduce myself over the next few days. I used to blog a long time ago at AOL. But life just got in the way and I just let my Journal go. I am ready to get back into it and hopefully make some friends.
Well until later
Cynthia

Sad

So I am already upset by the fact that I can't be home with my family for Christmas, I am even more upset that my Mom's cell phone service has been suspended because she doesn't have the money to pay it. I wish I could pay it for her, but I just don't have the money to do so.

I know I am being selfish, but I really don't know what I would do if I can't call my Mom on Christmas to wish her a Merry Christmas. I know I will be going up there only 2 weeks after Christmas, but she doesn't know that. You don't know how horrible I would feel if I wasn't able to wish my Mom a Merry Christmas, and to tell her I love her.

She was the hardest person to leave when I moved down to Tennessee. The day before I left was Mother's Day and a few days before that I was in Halmark picking out my Mom's gift and card. I was standing in the card isle reading cards and I just started bawling, I mean full blown tears in the middle of Halmark. Now I will admit when I buy cards for loved ones I always look for the ones that say what it is I feel. That day it just made it even that more emoitional. I knew I was leaving the next day and had no clue when I would be seeing my Mom again.

So in October when my best friend had her second child, she asked me to be his Godmother. We figured out when she could have the my Godson's Dedication so that is why I am going home in January, well that is part of the reason, I get to spend time with my Mommy.

But, it still makes me sad that I won't be able to see her on Christmas, and now I may not even be able to hear her voice. I am going to call her tomorrow while she is at work, to see if maybe her phone with be on by Christmas.

Anywho, I have whined enough.

Until later...

This and That!

Well I started this blog to track my progress of getting pregnant, only problem is we have hit a bump in the road. I just found out a few weeks ago that I am in the beginning stages of Type 2 Diabetes, and my Doc wants me to hold off for a bit before getting pregnant :(

I am really upset by this, I was really hoping to get pregnant early in the New Year, but that doesn't look like it is going to happen. I know God has a plan for Joe and I. I just have to be patience.

Anywho, I know I just started this blog and this is only my second entry, I plan on using this place more and more, for anything and everything. I am even thinking about changing the name of this blog. Since no one has even been here yet, no one is going to know the difference...lol.

I can't believe that Christmas is only 3 days away, I am really excited and sad at the same time. Excited becuase I love Christmas, I have always loved it I love decorating giving presents and yes I even love getting presents...lol. But my most favorite thing it spending time with my family, and that is what makes me sad this year. My family is in PA and I am TN. I am really starting to miss my Mom and my sister and my niece and nephew.

Yes, I have my husband and our dog, but I know I will be feeling the void of not having my Mom around and her yummy food!

But, there is a bright side to all of this, in 19 days I am actually flying back to PA for a few days to see my family and to meet my best friends son who is also my godson for the first time. I can't wait til then. My mom has no clue that I am coming. So I am really looking forward to that, and also looking forward to a cheese steak...lol.

Well I think that is all for now. I have to work in the morning so I guess I should get to bed.
Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!

Cynthia
