Well I am home now and I had a wonderful time, it just wasn't enough time.
I'll start with Friday. I arrived in Philly around 10 am and had no sleep the night before, yep I was like a little kid on Christmas Eve. I was just so excited I tried sleeping on the plane that didn't work.
I was stuck next to some guy that smelled like rotten garlic, I really don't know what rotten garlic really smells like, but I am sure this guy smelled like it...lol. So yeah that was no fun. My sister was waiting for me near baggage claim, I was so happy to see her then we were off. It was really weird being back in PA, nothing really changed yet it all seemed so different.
We went to my best friends house and I got to meet my Godson he looks like a little old man, if you put thick black glasses on him he would look like that Six Flags dude...lol. Her daughter has gotten big, she is now walking and talking jibberish. She warmed up to me quick because I was sitting on the floor playing Pooh with her...lol.
My bf, sister and I went out to get lunch... of course the first thing I had to have was a cheesesteak, it was yummy!!!! Then we took Audrey back home and went to my Mom's. We couldn't go right there because my nephew was at the sitters and he couldn't see me until after school.
My Mom was at work so I took advantage of her bed and took a 2 hour nap (it wasn't nearly enough). My sister woke me up a few mins before the kids got off the bus. My niece knew I was coming so I was really looking for my nephews reaction, he didn't notice me at first and then stopped dead in his tracks and yelled "Aunt Cynthia". I cried...lol.
I got hugs from both of them and my wonderful 10 year old neice looks at me and puts her hands on my face and said 'It's so good to see your face' ugh it makes me want to cry now.
So we went back to my Mom's and hung out, of course the kids just talked my ear off I couldn't stop hugging them. My nephew who is just 5 kept asking me if I was moving back to PA. Yeah pulling at your heartstrings.
So it was time to go pick up my Mom. My sister went into her work first to let my Mom's customers know to be quiet when I walk in (they all know me). Well my sister gave me the all clear and just as I was walking in my Mom was coming out of her office. My sister was in front of me and moved to the side and that it when my Mom saw me.
She was soooooo shocked, she just said 'What are you doing here?' We hugged and cried, then she had to go back into her office and calm down. Needless to say she was happy, and surprised. She had NO clue. When I told her she had Saturday off she didn't believe me. Yep I called her boss and asked if she could have the day off, again she didn't know about that...lol.
I gave her the ring and she loved it, she kind of had a clue she was getting a ring, because before I ordered it I needed to ask her ring size. It fit her perfect and she said she is never taking it off.
It was a short 4 days, I wish I could have stayed longer but I gotta work. I spent most of the time with my Mom, sister and the kids. I went to my Godson's baptism and stopped by my Dad's work twice (not really close to him). Other than that I really didn't hang out with other friends. This visit was about my family.
Monday night I put the kids to bed and my nephew kept asking me to stay one more day. My niece was crying because I was leaving the next morning. That was the hardest part of the whole trip saying goodbye all over again. I plan on going back again this year, my Mom wants to come down after tax time and I may have my niece come down this summer for a month or so.
It was a good trip other than Monday when I ended up getting sick to my tummy, I think it was from lack of sleep. I didn't get even close to 6 hours of sleep a night while I was there. When the kids were awake I was spending the time with them and when they went to sleep I was either hanging with my Mom or my sister.
(Note for next trip --- Get plenty of sleep beforehand)
All and all it was a great trip, I can't wait to see everyone again. I'll post pictures later, I am too tired and it is back to work for me tomorrow.
Until Later
